After graduating, she hopes to transition into a position in which she can educate others about best management practices in the green industry.

Field of study: Joshua B. Henry is a greenhouse and nursery management major at Ohio State University’s Agricultural Technical Institute (ATI). He was a fourth-grader when he attended a gardening course offered by a Master Gardener Volunteer program. Josh worked with students at his former elementary school in hopes some might become horticulturists. He will transfer to the OSU in Columbus to the College of Food, Agriculture, and Environmental Sciences. Josh plans to own a greenhouse business.
 
  2013 Amy Miller
School: Ohio State University in Wooster, Ohio
Field of study: Amy Miller will complete her greenhouse production and management courses this spring from the Agricultural Technical Institute at the Ohio State University in Wooster, OH. She has been on the Director’s List for all seven quarters and was named Outstanding Ohio ATI student. This fall, she will move to Ohio State’s main campus in Columbus and continue her studies at the College of Food, Agriculture, and Environmental Sciences. Her goal is to pursue research to support the horticulture industry, enabling it to become stronger and more profitable.
 
  2013 Matt Ozenbaugh
School: Purdue University
Field of study: Matt Ozenbaugh is a junior at Purdue University majoring in Horticulture, Landscape, and Design. His family owns a 600-acre farm in the heart of Indiana farming country where they raise wheat, corn for ethanol, and soy for bio-diesel fuel. He enjoys designing and making hardscapes, especially terraces out of brick or stone, and will compete at the Planet Career Fair where school teams design and build a landscape, irrigation system, or terrace. Matt wants to own a landscape design business.

Field of study: Denise R. Snook will be a senior at Temple University’s Ambler campus. Denise has maintained a 4.0 grade point average and has taken on many leadership opportunities at Temple. After graduating, Denise hopes to receive a Ph.D. at Cornell University in the field of horticulture.

Field of study: Rychele White is a sophomore majoring in horticulture at the Agricultural Technical Institute of the Ohio State University in Wooster, OH. Rychele will transfer to Ohio State’s main campus and after undergraduate school she hopes to complete her Master’s degree in horticulture. Her goal is to expand the family farm to include a garden landscaping business incorporating ornamentals, fruits and vegetables.

She plans on becoming a licensed landscape architect and obtaining a LEED accreditation. Stephanie is passionate about protecting the Great Lakes, her regions most valued natural resource, for future generations.
